A GREAT SCOUTING EXPERIENCE!
In
Goals:
- Emphasize scouting skills and spirit.
- Provide a positive environment for learning and advancement.
- Focus on enjoying the outdoors through camping, hiking, and backpacking.
- Practice Patrol method with boys leading boys.
Our Troop offers scouts individual attention and the leadership opportunities necessary to help them grow and advance.
Adult Leadership Is Key
The Troop encourages adults to participate and lead in partnership with the boys. BSA training is encouraged to ensure that our youth are protected and safe.
Activities:
The scouts run the meetings, determine the yearly calendar, and plan all activities. Fun activities include:

Facts:
- Organized in 1992 and sponsored by Bedford Rotary Club
- Reasonable Troop size
- Patrols not to exceed 6-8 boys
- Thirteen Eagle scouts
- High percentage of adult participation
Advancement:
The Boy Scout advancement program provides a ladder of skills that a scout climbs at his own pace. Each rank has skills for the scout to learn. Troop 5 leaders mentor scouts through the following ranks:
- Tenderfoot
- Second class
- First Class
- Star
- Life
- Eagle
When does Troop 5 meet?
Every Monday night, 6:30 to 8:00 pm on school days
Meetings held at
Troop meetings are planned and run by the youth leaders under the supervision of the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. Parents and guardians are invited to stay and participate.
